MTCC Africa’s virtual webinar that was hosted in conjunction with Directorate of the Merchant Marine – Benin, highlighted the need for the Promotion of Technical Co-operation and Transfer of Technology relating to the Improvement of Energy Efficiency in Ports plus the shipping industry at large.

The objectives of the Webinar were:
1. To raise awareness in the lessons learned on the implementation of Marpol Annex VI in Benin.
2. To disseminate knowledge on MTCC Africa’s work on MARPOL Annex VI and related issues in the African region.
3. To highlight the successes of the outcomes of the MTCC Africa Pilot Project on the Uptake of Port Energy Efficient Technologies and Operations.
