Dr. Kiplimo joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in 2006 as an Assistant Research Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering after completing his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Thermofluid option). He proceeded for his Doctoral degree course in Okayama University, Japan in 2008 and graduated in March 2012. He served as the examination officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering during years 2012 – 2014. He was appointed the Program Coordinator of Marine Engineering Program, January 2014 to August 2014. Since September 2014 to date he has served as the Chairman of the Department of Marine Engineering and Maritime Operations where he has made great efforts to secure ship board training for the marine students. He has initiated several MoUs with the Maritime Shipping industry and academia both locally and internationally. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marine Engineering with over 10 years of research and teaching experience. His research areas of interest include: Internal Combustion Engines with a bias to renewable alternative fuels, Marine Engines, Engineering Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Refrigeration and Air conditioning, Pollution Control and Mitigation and Climate Change. Prior to joining JKUAT he worked at Kaluworks Aluminum Rolling Mills Limited as a Maintenance Engineer for two years.
